The Long Table Experience

"We have no strangers here, Only friends we haven’t met."

We are constantly mindful of the original concept of the Long Table Dinner which is for visitors and locals to join together and be part of the King Island experience.

Above all, old friends and new are encouraged to join in on one of the original themes which is – “pick it, cook it and eat it”, consequently the entire meal consists of and showcases King Island’s magnificent produce.

Pick It.

For those who are interested the “experience” begins on Friday with a tour of the varied producers of the Island. In doing so you are given a very informative commentary from each grower and encouraged, where applicable, to sample the raw product. A highlight of your day, at each and every stop, you will feel and hear the passion and pride these people have in their product and King Island.

Cook It.

It has finally been confirmed, journalist, editor, author, designer, stylist, teacher, television personality, entrepreneur I suppose it could be said entertainer, Tonia Todman will be here for the weekend. During this time she will be involved with the cooking lessons and preparations on the Saturday which makes them a must to attend.

Eat It.

Tonia has also generously agreed to host some of the proceedings during Sunday’s meal also we are advised she is very approachable which will be a highlight for the day in it’s own right. Again we are proud to say the entire meal’s ingredients are all King Island’s local produce. For those of you who are not aware there will be in excess of a dozen different mouth watering dishes served throughout the afternoon.
